How to Build Sales Funnel in 2024? A Guide to Building High Converting Sales Funnels

The funnel, also known as the sales funnel or revenue funnel, is a model that shows how a large number of potential customers can be narrowed down to a smaller number of people who actually make a purchase. In this post, we’ll learn how we can build sales funnel with high conversion rates.

Sales Funnel, also referred to as marketing funnel, is a term used for a graphical representation of leading the user in a journey from awareness to action, i.e. making a purchase.

If you’re not already familiar with sales funnels, they are essentially a way to structure your sales process to more effectively convert prospects into paying customers. The typical sales funnel has several steps, starting with awareness and leading to purchase.

What is a sales funnel?

A sales funnel is a process that companies use to convert potential customers into actual paying customers. The sales funnel typically starts with marketing activities that generate interest in a company’s products or services.

From there, potential customers progress through the funnel as they learn more about the company and its offerings. Ultimately, at the bottom of the funnel, customers take action by making a purchase.

There are many benefits to using a sales funnel, including the ability to track your leads more, identify where prospects are dropping off, and improve your close rate. Additionally, using a sales funnel can help you to better segment your market and customize your sales approach.

How do funnels work?

The sales funnel is an important tool for companies because it helps them track their progress in converting potential customers into actual paying customers.

By understanding where customers are in the funnel, companies can adjust their marketing and sales activities accordingly to improve conversion rates. Additionally, the sales funnel can help companies identify potential areas of improvement in their customer acquisition process.

What are the 4 Stages of Funnels?

The funnel works in the 4 basic stages which drive your targeted audience about your services and products until they purchase them at the end of the funnel. The four stages of a prospect’s mindset are:

  • Awareness: Potential customers become aware of your product or service through marketing and advertising. They show interest in your product or service and begin to research it.
  • Consideration: Potential customers compare your product or service to others in the market and narrow down their options.
  • Decision: Potential customers express interest in purchasing your product or service. They make a decision to purchase your product or service.
  • Action: Finally, the product is purchased.

Each stage requires you to take a different approach with your messaging in order to be effective.

The 4 Stage principle can be remembered using the acronym: AIDA

Do sales funnels actually work?

The funnel is designed to funnel customers toward a buying decision by presenting them with increasingly enticing offers as they move through the funnel.

Sales funnels can be an effective way to increase sales and conversions for some companies. Others find that funnels don’t work for their business or their customers. Ultimately, it comes down to testing to see if a sales funnel works for your company. The other benefits also include:

  • Helping businesses to identify and qualify potential customers.
  • Generating sales and revenue.
  • Providing data and insights to help businesses improve their marketing and sales efforts.

How can I use funnels for my store?

A funnel is a great way to increase conversions to your store. By offering a series of products or services at different price points, you can increase the chances that a customer will find something that they are willing to buy.

Funnels can also be used to upsell customers by offering them additional products or services after they have made a purchase.

Why there’s a need for funnel implementations?

There are basically several reasons to build a funnel for your business. Some of them include:

  • Adding New Customers: The purpose of a sales funnel is to take a company’s target audience and move them through a series of steps that could eventually result in them becoming customers.
  • Generating Referrals: To acquire the target audience and a selected group of customers, we use sales funnel to target the audience with information they’re not aware of.

How to boost sales with sales funnels?

How to build sales funnel with WordPress?

To get started with building a sales funnel on Wordpress, first, we’ll need to make sure we have all the things we need.

  • Faster Web Hosting for WooCommerce: Your web host should be able to handle the traffic coming on your hosting without slowing down. We recommend using managed hosting providers like Cloudways to host your websites for faster performance.
  • Optimized WordPress Theme: The loading speed of the website plays a key role in the conversion of your funnel. If your page takes too long to load, your potential customers will abandon the website. We recommend using WP Astra for its faster performance and compatibility with other page builders like Elementor.
  • Necessary Plugins: Make sure you have the required e-commerce plugins installed on your website, i.e. WooCommerce, for e-commerce functionality and Cartflow (recommended), for building sales funnel on your website, and Elementor for building high-quality landing pages and sales funnel.
